This group is trying to hold on to the true faith. since Vatican II, the church has been a mess. We have her radical Cardinals, bishops and priests. We have so much disrespect for the Blessed Sacrament. We have a pope who ignores the Rubrics of Holy Thursday Mass and washes the feet of non Christians and feet of women. Francis says he does not have the right to judge, but he does, as a Vicar of Christ. We have lost our moral compass. It seems Francis is preparing the way for the new anti-church that John II, warned us about. Also, our Lady of LaSalette said that Rome lose the faith and become the seat of the Anti-christ. With about 24 percent of Catholics attending Mass each week, I think the Antichrist will sit on a throne of Peter during my lifetime. Thus completing the prophecies of Our Lady of LaSalette, Fatima and our Lady of Akita.

First of all, I am not a member of an SSPX congregation, I have never attended any of their servces, and I don't personally know anyone connected with them. My entire knowledge of them is based on what I have read and heard on the internet from all perspectives.

Bishop Morlino's point 1) the Legislator (the Pope) and the bishops with him don't think there is a state of emergency, strictly speaking, begs the question.

The whole SSPX issue hinges on the state of emergency argument put forward by AB Lefebvre and based on canon law 1323:4f : "No one is liable to a penalty who, when violating a law or precept: 4ƒ acted under the compulsion of grave fear, even if only relative, or by reason of necessity or grave inconvenience, unless, however, the act is intrinsically evil or tends to be harmful to souls."

Yes, SSPX appear, prima facie, to be in schism, but this judgement would be nullified if Lefebvre's claims were vindicated in time. I think we are all still too close in time to the fateful events in question to call it and I think that is why the authorities in Rome, especially under BXVI, have not moved against them in any decisive way but on the contrary, have opened channels of rapprochement. Pope Francis continues with the same policy.

Let us consider the hypocrisy of a situation where there are certain prelates who are formally submitted to the Pope and the Magisterium, and yet, in their daily words and deeds they are heretics and schismatics and give grave scandal. CM is tireless in documenting their antics and so we don't need to name any names here. On the other hand, AB Lefebvre was probably the most theologically, morally and liturgically orthodox prelate of the second half of the 20th century, yet on some (disputed) legal technicalities he is to be condemned as a schismatic? There is something not quite right about this state of affairs.

However, it's all way above my pay grade and I am very lucky to be able to attend a diocesan Latin mass run by very fine, orthodox priests of FSSP, but a part of me has a terrible sense of foreboding about the near and middle future as things continue to spiral further away from orthodoxy in the main body of the Church. Will it eventually turn out that AB Lefebvre was the canary in the mineshaft?

Conflicting interpretations of Canon Law are resolved by the judgement of the Supreme Legislator, from whose decisions there is no appeal. If the Supreme Legislator judges that there is not a state of emergency as envisioned by Canon Law, then there is no state of emergency! The Supreme Legislator is not bound by Canon Law, else it would be possible to appeal his decisions.

The highly self-serving interpretations and applications of Canon Law by the Society allow one to justify almost any action whatsoever short of intrinsic evil by appeal to little more than "I thought it was the right thing to do." Subjective factors may, indeed, mitigate personal culpability and, therefore, application of certain penalties, but they cannot mitigate the requirement to submit to the decisions of the Supreme Legislator and those to whom he delegates his authority.

The SSPX have consistently refused the most generous and magnanimous invitations from the Church to reconcile and place themselves under the authority of the Vicar of Christ, rejecting his dogmatically defined “full power of shepherding, ruling and governing the universal Church,” a power "ordinary and immediate over all the churches and over each and every member of the faithful" ( see our FAQ http://www.churchmilitant.com/... )

There is much in the Society's critique of the crisis in the Church that has already been vindicated. What can never be vindicated is their decision to refuse to submit to the Roman Pontiff, the very essence of the canonical definition of schism. Even if Archbishop Lefebvre was the "canary in the mineshaft," the decision to break communion with the Church as response is sinful and evil. The status of SSPX will be argued for a long time to come. While those who have accepted the Novus Ordo and Vatican II are quite clear on the issue, the matter is not as simple as "blind obedience to the papacy" (popalatry)....or even the opinion of one truly good bishop.

I am not a Canon lawyer; I have read scholarly opinions on both sides of the question. It is not as simple as CM would have us believe. I suspect that CM has embraced Vatican II, while SSPX has not. Resistance to the errors introduced by the spirit of Vatican II was the reason that SSPX came into existence. SSPX has not accepted the errors of Vatican II and therefore will be at odds with those who have.

It is a convoluted question that many would like to simplify by simply saying, "SSPX is in schism".

However, as a layman, I can certainly abide by the simple rule that Jesus gave us for judging such matters: "By their fruits you shall know them".

Only time will tell, but so far, the fruits of Vatican II have all been rotten, while SSPX has born many good fruits. Let us continue to evaluate the fruits and allow the Holy Ghost to guide the Church. All errors contain within themselves the seed of their destruction. Certainly the Novus Ordo church is self-destructing.

As has been pointed out by many in these discussions, even the pope was wrong in the saga of the Arian heresy.

And just in case you are wondering, I do not attend Mass at a SSPX parish, nor to I support it in any fashion. Unlike CM, I see the SSPX as a "corrective force" in the struggle against modernism.

Because they are!

Canon 751 says that "refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or the communion of the members of the Church subject to him" constitutes schism. Even without a formal declaration of schism, the sin (or state) of schism can be demonstrated for the Society quite easily.

"Refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff" by the Society can be seen in their refusal to reconcile and place themselves under the authority of the Vicar of Christ, rejecting his dogmatically defined “full power of shepherding, ruling and governing the universal Church,” a power "ordinary and immediate over all the churches and over each and every member of the faithful" (cited and referenced in our FAQ on the Society at http://www.churchmilitant.com/... )

"Refusal of ... communion of the members of the Church subject to" the Roman Pontiff can be seen in the frequently quoted statement by Bishop Fellay (and others) that "The New Mass is bad, it is evil" ( https://www.catholicculture.or... and, in pastoral practice, supporters of the Society are instructed never to participate in a Novus Ordo Mass because it is "absolutely offensive to God" (https://www.ewtn.com/library/C... ). Supporters of the Society are also discouraged from participating even in FSSP settings because the FSSP "accepts Vatican II." So the Society fulfills both parts of the canonical definition of schism, although one need only violate one or the other to be judged schismatic. The Society still, today, has "no canonical status" and does not "legitimately exercise any ministry in the Church." ( http://www.vatican.va/holy_fat... and http://www.vatican.va/holy_fat... ). All Society priests, including their bishops, remain suspended a divinis and, therefore, all exercise of their priestly ministry is a grave offense against God.

St. John Paul II declared the Society to be schismatic in Ecclesia Dei Adflicta in 1988 ( http://w2.vatican.va/content/j... ), the Pontifical Council on the the Interpretation of Legislative Texts confirmed this judgment in 1996 ( http://wdtprs.com/blog/2015/03... ) and, much more recently, the current head of the CDF (and President of the Ecclesia Dei Commission) referred to the Society as being in schism ( http://rorate-caeli.blogspot.c... ), the recent head of the Apostolic Signatura has said that the Society is in schism, and the current Secretary of the PCED spoke of Pope Francis hoping that the Society would "enter the Church" ( http://sspx.org/en/news-events... )

Gary the forerunner to the Antichrist hates the SSPX. Because of Gary's hatred for the SSPX, Gary will one day murder the Fatima Pope, because the Fatima Pope will most likely come from the ranks of SSPX.

Before all this happens I would expect Pope Francis to die soon.

The next elected Pope will be a bishop that is hated by Voris. This next Pope will make a fool out of Voris. Many will wonder if Voris will attack the new pope since Voris attacked him as a bishop. The Answer is no. Voris will not attack the new Pope. Many if not all will then laugh at Voris for his foolishness. Voris will then disappear to some secluded mountain top to wait out the pontificate of this new pope.

After the death of Francis II a SSPX priest or bishop will be elected as Pope. This will be the Fatima Pope.

Voris will by then have raised an Army and will seek out the Fatima Pope to kill him.

Thus settling his score agains the SSPX.

Gary will then earn the title of the Forerunner to the Antichrist.

MADISON, Wis., August 7, 2015 (ChurchMilitant.com) - Bishop Robert C. Morlino of the diocese of Madison, Wisconsin, has issued a warning about the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX).

In his statement, Bishop Morlino takes a measured stance, acknowledging the complexities of the situation and clarifying that the SSPX is not "in schism, in the strict sense" — meaning the Church has not formally declared the group to be in schism. He goes on to lay out reasons, however, why the group remains in material schism.

He strongly admonishes the Traditionalist community in his diocese to have "nothing to do with them." He cites pope Benedict's 2009 motu proprio, which states that the SSPX "does not possess a canonical status in the Church" and its ministers "do not legitimately exercise any ministry in the Church."

His Excellency notes that while several of the sacraments offered by the SSPX are valid, all of them are illegally celebrated, and so "Catholics should not frequent SSPX chapels or seek sacraments from the priests of the SSPX."

Two of the sacraments offered by the SSPX on the other hand, are both invalid and illicit. Marriage and Confession require jurisdiction, which the SSPX does not possess. The SSPX claims that there is a state of emergency, and thus it can offer these sacraments. But Bp. Morlino was quick to point out two errors with this reasoning:

1) the Legislator (the Pope) and the bishops with him don't think there is a state of emergency, and 2) the sacraments offered by the SSPX are already widely available at legitimate parishes and chapels, i.e., no one is being denied the sacraments.

Bishop Morlino ends his message with some practical advice:

In closing, I want to stress that the need for a reform of the reform is real, and it is underway in our diocese. If you see that the Church needs fixing, work with your bishop, your pastors, and your fellow lay faithful to fix it. Share your needs and your concerns. Leaving is the last thing to do; leaving just doesn’t make sense! Communion with the Church is something to be cherished, safeguarded, and nourished.

Always looking at our Blessed Mother’s fidelity to Her Son, let us turn in prayer to Mary, Mother of the Church and Mother of our faith.

So what you say? 

Well since the FSSP prides themselves on obedience to Pope Francis and Vatican II one would think that the FSSP would prohibit any of their priests from declaring from the Pulpit that Pope Francis is indeed the forerunner to the Antichrist, and since a very public member of the FSSP Latin Mass community is spreading the idea that Pope Francis is the Forerunner to the Antichrist on her blog, one has to ask - is she permitted by her FFSP priest to spread this allegation that Pope Francis is the Forerunner to the Antichrist?

This woman will not attend the new mass - that's a given - so it stands to reason that she will not confess to a new mass saying Priest - she most likely confesses to the FSSP there in Colorado. Pope Francis: Not the Antichrist, but the Anti-John the Baptist – the False Prophet Forerunner  

I posted a few weeks ago that it is now appropriate for serious-minded people to start considering the possibility that Pope Francis is, in fact, the Antichrist. Well, I heard from many serious people, and I will share the consensus, which I believe is almost certainly correct. 

First, the serious consensus is that Pope Francis is NOT the Antichrist. He is, without question, the Spirit of Antichrist, but not the individual Antichrist himself. Why? The Antichrist will be A.) extremely intelligent, which Bergoglio is not, and B.) teaching and tradition with regards to the Antichrist holds that he will be a layman. 

What the serious consensus today is, however, is that there is a very, very high probability that Francis is the False Prophet forerunner of the Antichrist, who is paving the way and laying the groundwork for the Antichrist. 

John the Baptist was executed for defending the sanctity of Marriage vis-a-vis the state, namely King Herod. Bergoglio is himself attacking Marriage, and not only fails to speak out against the state, but is openly cooperating with it as an ally. 

John the Baptist was genuinely unconcerned with the material and everything he said and did was in regards to the human soul and its eternal fate. Francis is an utter materialist who frames everything up to and including the slaughter of preborn children in material terms, and says hardly anything about the eternal fate of the soul – and was reported to have confessed in an interview his belief in the heresy of Soul Annihilation, which has gone uncorrected in any way to this day. 

John the Baptist proselytized the One True Faith, and the essentiality of baptism. Francis condemns proselytization, tells people he has no interest or desire to convert them to Christianity, and openly embraces false religions. 

John the Baptist preached repentance. Bergoglio denies the need for repentance and casts this as “mercy”. 

John the Baptist’s charge was to “Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight His paths.” Francis has stated and has as his motto “hagan lio”, which means in Spanish, “make a mess” or more colloquially, “raise hell”. Francis proudly sows utter chaos. 

John the Baptist diminished himself so that Christ might shine. Bergoglio diminishes Christ so that Francis might enjoy more worldly popularity and “power”. 

Now, read the following quote from this glowing article from a New Jersey newspaper about a sodomite priest at a local parish and then sit in stillness with the full horror of what damage Francis has done in just over two years. He now has people denying that GOD HIMSELF will judge us for our sins. Stop and think about that. Use logic and progress your way through that. If “p”, then “q”. If “q” then “r”. If “r” then “s”. 

Where it leads, and leads quickly, is to nihilism (the utter rejection of all moral principles, and the belief that life is meaningless), utter hedonism and mass murder.

He pointed to the words of Pope Benedict XVI, who called for careful discernment and wise pastoral accompaniment, while recognizing that there are no “simple solutions” to the difficulties wounded families face.

The Church, Pope Francis said, should imitate the Good Shepherd, welcoming all her children as a mother who is willing to give her life for them. “Each one of us can do our part by having the attitude of the Good Shepherd, Who knows every one of His sheep, and excludes no one from His infinite love."
